Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to get interviewed by Charleston's ubiquitous Quintin Washington in one of his Quintin's Close Up's™. He's one of the most prolific journalists in this town according to Charleston's City Paper. Quintin is much more well known than I am but if he thinks I'm renowned I'll go with that!

Having accomplished over 1000 one-on-one intervie...

At the upper right side of my work in progress titled "The Glory of God (returns to the Temple)" is the image of Elijah exiting stage left. The scene is here to tell us that it is possible to enter into Heaven while still alive. No need to lay the body down! 2 Kings 2:11 ... behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah wen...

Most of my wall space is covered with my own paintings, luckily my husband is very happy with that. But even with wall space being at a premium, I have purchased original art from other artists. Because when I saw it I had to have it, I loved the way it made me feel.

Here are my five reasons to buy original art:

1. Has it's own energy.
It brings life and energy. Good original art...

I recently finished a commission that was a Christmas gift to a friend of the buyer.

They are a pair of Sea Turtles that will be in part of her home that she considers a sanctuary away from the demands of her busy life.

A very enjoyable project for me because I could let loose with colors I love on a subject I love for people I love!

They are 12 x 12 inches each, I used heavy duty c...

I'm working on a commission where I'm taking an existing painting from a few years ago and painting out two of the images and replacing them with specific symbols that have meaning to the buyer.

Archetypes and symbolism light my fire! I love it when a client resonates with the beauty and power of images that personally supports them in the life they are actively creating.

On this c...

Earlier this month I finished a content marketing video for a client. In this video I tell the story of how I created the icon they use for their product branding.

Many of the images I use are of my own paintings to talk about symbolism and the meanings behind the visuals. You can watch the video below or on Vimeo.

How ideas and images progress and are created.

It was a very enjoya...

The last few weeks I've been creating a content marketing video for a wonderful company (with the help of my exceptionally wonderful husband) where I use many of my paintings as visuals to tell a story about their product.

We all love stories, every night I so look forward to reading a few pages of my current novel waiting to fall asleep in bed. I get excited wondering what's goin...

In June, I painted a piece specifically to enter a competition. Unfortunately, I didn't win (I know, right?) but the response I got from all who saw the entry was so supportive and admiring that I went ahead and went through the process of creating high quality gicless of the painting.

Safe Harbor is an original oil on canvas where I chose two images of what, I have come to observ...

On the left hand side of the painting titled "The Glory of God"- opposite the violent upheaval with the volcano and tornado and and rivers of fire, is a composition with the living water flowing to sooth the ravaged heart and mind.

At top the cliff are two twinned Trees of Life. Their roots and their branches meet and are joined with the water flowing under the roots.

The living wa...
