The Key of Sea

The Key of Sea measures unframed 20 x 26 inches and is an original oil on canvas. I use high quality Sennelier oil paint that I was introduced to and became my favorite when I lived in Paris. In the tradition of the Old Masters, I use walnut oil glazes to build depth and saturation of color. For me the symbol of the key is the vehicle for the unlocking of knowledge. Behind the ancient representation of the two dolphins and the scallop shell on the top of the key, you can peek through to the limitless universe.

The frame is handcrafted and custom made of solid wood with a solid wood inset. The outside dimensions of the frame are 27 x 33 inches.
