Sheila Kern is a commission artist who creates paintings that capture the essence of people, places and subjects. Her joy is to create art that is beautiful and radiates life, with the aspiration to uplift and enliven. She draws upon her world travels and professional experience to paint works of art that are full of symbolism and soul, bringing positive energy and personal meaning to the owner.

Originally from Rhode Island, Sheila received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University. She worked as an illustrator, designer and fine art painter in upstate New York until her career took her from the United States to Ireland where she worked commercially, as well as continuing with portraiture and fine art painting. Most notably, Sheila was commissioned for a series of five portraits by Foras na Gaeilge, an Irish governmental organization. This series began with painting T.K. Whitaker, a former Irish economist who won the "Greatest Living Irish Person" award in 2002.

Sheila moved to Paris, leaving commercial work behind to focus solely on creating works of art that enliven, and had the pleasure of living in the "City of Light" for four years. She has exhibited in independent and group shows in the US, Ireland and Paris. In 2008, she organized “Art for Humanity” - bringing artists from eight countries together for four consecutive weeks to create art at the same time in different time zones, with their intention focused on peace and harmony for humanity.

Enthralled by its beauty and creative buzz, Sheila decided to make Savannah, Georgia her home late in 2010.
