My friend Carol commissioned a painting in which she wanted to capture her time in France. Originally, she thought herself on the famous bridge in Monet's Garden in Giverny, but that looked too staged. Eventually we stopped "trying" to find the perfect spot and settled down to some tasty cheese and wine. Only then it became effortless, the sun broke through at the perfect angle and everything fell into place.
